Dariga Mametova
Dariga Mametova is a resilient young girl from the Kazakh territory of the USSR. Orphaned at a tender age, she is taken in by her uncle, who relocates the family to Russia in search of a new beginning. As war looms and resources dwindle, her uncle makes the heart-wrenching decision to leave Dariga at a local orphanage under the Royal Priesthood’s care, prioritizing his own family’s survival. This pivotal moment shapes Dariga’s journey, forging her into a survivor in a world steeped in darkness.
At the age of sixteen, she faces the stark reality of leaving the orphanage, having reached the age limit for residency. Instead of following the conventional path of employment at the local factory, a fate that typically awaited the young women of her village, she makes the audacious decision to participate in a youth military tournament in the Capitol, driven by the ambition to enlist in the military.
Her motivation, despite the prohibition against members of the Royal Priesthood engaging in warfare, stems from a desire to forge a legacy of pride and to transcend the label of an orphan abandoned by her family. Within the competitive arena, she uncovers an unexpected talent for marksmanship. Her exceptional skills attract the attention of a high-ranking army officer, who generously sponsors her education at a prestigious high school in the Capitol—an essential prerequisite for military enlistment.
There, she flourishes academically while undertaking military elective courses to prepare for her future. Upon graduation, she fulfills her ambition by enlisting in the Central Women’s Sniper Training School, marking the beginning of her promising military career.
